Couplers...

We don't offer them on the Vamoots RSL or the PX RSL. On the Vamoots RSL the tubing is butted...therefore no couplers there...on the PX RSL same, plus the shaped top tube will not allow.

MX RSL....yes, the couplers are an option. The top & down tube on the MX RSL are not butted due to impact and denting on the much thinner tubes. The seat tube in butted and the top and down tube are thinner straight gauge (non-butted) tubes. The couplers add 8oz. or a half pound to any frame.

Thanks,,

Moots would not couple RSL models. I have coupled compact and it works well. I took it to France this summer with no extra fees (swiss air).

I'd be interested in seeing if Moots would couple a MX RSL. A regular Mooto-X, no worries, but an RSL? Adds a pound to a pure race machine. Not saying they couldn't/shouldn't but wondering if they would.

S&S box is 26"x26"x10". That's maximum airline size 62" liear inches total. (26+26+10) 29er rims have a diameter of approximately 24.5" (622 mm)[3] and the average 29" mountain bike tire has an outside diameter of about 29.15" (740mm). So as you can see it would typically take removing your tire or being able to get it really flat after totally deflating it. As the owner of a Psychlo-Tour (only one I know of) I can tell you running 700x32 Schwalbe marathon supreme's darn near as totaly deflated as I can get them is a tight fit. They are much lower profile tires than a normal 29er tire. I would imagine if you got flexible bead tires you could remove them; fold them up and re-install on the far end. No guarrantees though.

Anyone have experience with couplers on the Mooto X RSL or any other Moots 29er? I was wondering if its possible to get one of these in any suitcases that meet Airline size regulations?

Thanks
