I hear ya on the price, it is a bit of a jump up to the 1.0 And you're right about the 1.0 not being as stiff as the 2.0, before I bought my 2.0 I talked with Jake at Enve and he said although the 1.0 would be a suitable choice he recommended the 2.0 based on my weight/strength. His advice was spot on, I love it.

Domestique, I went with the 2.0 over the 1.0 mainly based on price and availability(in Australia). And I didn't(don't) believe that the 1.0 is just as stiff as the 2.0.
After riding the RSL and a Giant TCR SL I realised just how flexy the front end of my bike was and wanted to stiffen it up some.
I was happy with the Easton SLX's handling but it just wasn't stiff enough for my style of riding.
I haven't built my bike up to be a weight weenie I'd rather it be bullet proof.

craig r, why did you go with a 2.0 instead of the 1.0? I would think that the 1.0 would suit the SL better.

The Edge 2.0 (43mm rake)has turned out to be an exceptional upgrade for my Compact SL, absolutely transformed the ride.
This is the 3rd fork i've put in it over 7 years and i've finally nailed the handling characteristics I've been after.(Maybe I should have put the recommended reynolds fork in it to begin with)
The first fork I had was a Bontrager XXX lite 40mm(terrible) and then an Easton SLX 43(great but just to flexy).

Also I recently test rode an RSL and I've got to say that with the new fork I'm not so sure I'd pony up for one. Thats how much stiffer the front end is and better the handling my SL is with this fork.

Cheers

Riding the 2.0 for the first time was revelatory. it responded way more predictable and no more brake chatter descending! What I like best is the way the 2.0 seems to accentuate the properties of the ti frame, it felt as though the frame & fork were working together as a cohesive unit (analogous to an old school Columbus or Reynolds steel frame & fork) whereas the Easton always felt somewhat disconnected and vague. Sure, the Easton was nice and comfy but you paid a price for that plush ride. I still get a little bit of brake rub with the 2.0 climbing out of the saddle but not nearly as much as with the Easton (besides, I think I would get brake rub no matter which fork I use), maybe I should adjust the brakes out just a smidgen more. If it sounds like I'm bashing the Easton I'm not, it's a great fork and for a lighter rider it might be nirvana. And as tbill noted above, I am also a fan of their ITT (internal threading technology) for the compression plug, I wished all manufacturers used it (yeah, it is that good). It's just that the Edge/Enve is on another level entirely, especially if you're a Clydesdale and you want a stiff but responsive fork. It's compliant enough to squelch road buzz but still stiff enough to allow the ti frame to work it's magic. 2 thumbs up!

D.

The Easton is a nice fork, but the Edge/Enve fork is stiffer, for sure. I wish Easton would license its internally threaded steerer design—it seems to solve a lot of the downsides with compression plugs and glue-in inserts (with True Temper out of business, is 3T the only one that has those?).

P.S. For bigger riders, the Serotta forks (S3 or F3) in their max stiffness (10.5) are excellent as well.

Yep. Rode the Easton about 10 miles one time. Not again. They may be a lot better under a light rider.

The Edge 2.0 is, IMHO, a great all around fork. Guess what is going on the RSL? :)

Swapped out the Easton EC90SL for a new Edge/Enve 2.0 on my Compact (same 43mm offset).

One word... WOW!
