Jeez, I should drive up to SF. Around LA, trying to find a Moots mountain bike to demo, especially a 29er is next to impossible. It's like people really aren't into them down here. Seems mostly the Specialized FS rules. The lbs that is a Moots dealer has never had a ybb 29er....

If you are in the Oakland area, you can check out Jason at Montano Velo on Piedmont Ave. They ride and sell Moots there.

The people at Wrench Science are really great and Avi is awesome. They send a lot of bikes out the door. If you're in San Francisco I'd go talk to Brian at Big Swingin' Cycles. Walk in, pet his dog (big Rhodesian Ridgeback) and talk Moots with the man himself. Can't go wrong either way. I personally have a huge affinity for shop dogs.

Jon, I got to check out a built up 19" YBB at Palo Alto Bicycles. Definitely too big still not sure if I will want a 17 or 18 when I order the RigorMootis. I am 5'7"with short legs, but I don't really like the small frames shops typical recommend for me. I don't like feeling like I'm hunched over or needing a whole lot of seat post to get good leg extension. My current bikes include a 19 inch Giant XTC TEAM, and a 19 inch 2008 Rincon for around town. They fit good, but I think Giants are a little small. We also have a 17.5 inch Trek Soho Single on 700cc which is a bit small but feels right as it has a pretty long stem on it.

ChiangMaiMoots,
Finding a 26'' Moots in stock is a rare event. Most have switched to 29 for stock bikes as they are the popular choice these days.

Lots of Bay area Moots dealers to choose from...all very good people.

Thanks,

Not sure what they keep in stock, but I got my RSL from Wrench Science over in Berkeley and would definitely recommend them. Avi Byer is the guy to talk to about all things Moots.

Really want to get a RigorMootis frame. Can anyone one recommend a
shop that have them in stock, or other 26" models? I want to take a look at the sizes before I order.
Might save me some time calling and driving around.
