But, regardless, retrofitting a slider rear to an already built bike/frame is a near impossibility and one that I'm sure Moots will say 'no' to. There seems to be a number of questions over the years about people wanting to retro fit this or that on a frame. Fair enough. But these bikes are built the way they are ordered and/or, the way they were suppose to be built. A simple question of whether it 'can' be retro-fitted is another issue - Can it? (possibly). Will it? No. There is just no way a frame company 'un-builds' what it built in the first place. </p> <p>There are alot of talented people that can turn a Ford Pinto into a Pantera - but those are reality shows, and way beyond the means of Moots (or any other frame company). The man hours involved alone would be hugely not-cost-effective. They don't have the tooling, jigs, etc. etc for (what would be) a hack job. Those are very thin walled tubes and I believe the stays are longer as well (on a SS)?? It's a simple question, and a seemingly simple 'thing' to do - but it's much, much more difficult from an already assembled frame. Much easier to start from a clean sheet and a proper build. </p> <p>It's against and and all design and build principles.
