G'day Tim

Long time...

I'm doing the 50km OO and quite looking forward to it- then the Granite Grind the week after- the Lake Mountain course is every bit as good as Forrest so that should be good too. Went to Bright last week having never ridden the trails out there. They are awesome and well worth the trip.

I think we've got the MX sorted now. Was not trouble as such, just a conundrum that I needed to get sorted. Butch @ Moots was most helpful.

Would be great to organise a ride, but would rather it is not You-Yangs centric and if its south of the divide, not a 9am start.

Cheers

R.

Hi Rob,

Having some trouble with your MX ?

Hope you've got it sorted, or perhaps Cycling Edge can help. We should organize another ride sometime.

I've started commuting with the Cinco, its a bit of a strange commuter, but it gets the job done.

On a side note, anyone doing the OO this year ?

Any (MX) Divide owners having side-to-side play in the seat-stays where they bolt onto the lower part of the carbon swing link. Mine are torqued to specification (10Nm for the axle & 5Nm for the pinch bolt) and there is enough play for the stay (where it slides over the axle) to move toward the bearing and create noise. If this is something you have encountered, can you let me know if you've fixed it. I can't seem to find an appropriate sized washer (to fit over the axle to sit between the outer face of the bearing and inner face of the stay) to account for the play.

Any assistance appreciated...

[I ask this with an understanding of the way in which the axle works i.e simply tightening to a greater torque won't fix this as at 10Nm the non-threaded part of the axle sits up against the inside face of the seat-stay].
