thx jon

i had 20 plus bikes in the past but moots quality made me reduce all bikes to moots compact 2008/2009 2 builts,
one 2009 psychlo x standart and a new rsl x brandnew to built this winter....

all frames perform perfectly, but i admid that my special love is for the old compact designs(tubesets etc) and psychlox standart frame as they are sooooo simple appearing but perfect performers......

FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION there!!!!!!!!!!!

U can't blame a guy for dreaming.... thought for sure I saw a MotoX YBB with belt drive....Hoped that U would make it and have it at the AHMBS in Denver,February.

Nothing wrong with a bit of variety in your cycling.

What will you do if you ride a MotoX and decide you crave the high performance of the Vamoots more ?

The PX is a nice bike for sure, but I'm not sure its really all that "relaxed", depending on what jmacjgm has in mind.

Maybe time to n+1 and have the Vamoots and MotoX side by side ? :)

After only 200 miles on a 62 cm Vamoots RSL, I have discovered I crave the rougher roads and probably a bit more relaxed geometry. Anyone here with a Mooto X RSL or YBB they might want to trade? I may even be open to other types of trades too...

Steve,
The photo on our site showing the pump peg on the seat tube is for a very small size road bike. We typically put them on the head tube, but once we get to the smaller sized frames we put it on the seat tube due to the fact that we run out of room between the top & down tube on those smaller sizes.

The pump at the head tube end on the smaller sizes is wedged in place between the two tubes.

Let me know if that makes sense or if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

I'm in the process (waiting for a demo to ride) of ordering a new Vamoots and was curious about the pump peg location. I noticed on the web site that they show the peg on the seat tube when it is depicted under options and was wondering how that works. My current bike has it on the head tube which makes sense because one end of the pump lodges on the peg and the other end in the acute angle between TT and seat tube. If the peg is on the seat tube, what will hold the end at the head tube? It seems to me that it will just fall off because of the obtuse angle at the head tube. I happen to use a Zefal HPx4 pump. Just curious on anyone's experience with the peg.

Via Ciclante took pictures of the entire bike assembly process, including a final shot of the fitting process. I'm so happy with the bike and the whole experience has been amazing from start to finish. Here's a link to the album on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150375954958198.359317.188195548197&type=1.

The final touch will be the installation of the 3T stem to match the seatpost and handlebars.

"I am sure that is why they will be offering the 44 head tube option so one can run a tapered fork if they choose."

Well maybe? The standard 44mm insets only alow for 1 1/8" forks. However if you wanted to run a CK Inset 7 (to be able to run a tapered fork) in there I would assume some extra machining of the lower head tube will be needed so as not to mess up the HT angles with the higher stack height of the CK Inset 7 headset.
And the Inset7 may not fit once thats done or I could be to much trouble for the guys to do?

'So does that mean that we can option an RSL for 2012 with the Chris King Inset 7 headset and run a tapered fork?'

I am sure that is why they will be offering the 44 head tube option so one can run a tapered fork if they choose. I am going to do a cross RSL build soon once the frames start shipping with the InSet 7 and a tapered ENVE cross fork.

So does that mean that we can option an RSL for 2012 with the Chris King Inset 7 headset and run a tapered fork?
That I would like to see and could get me over the line on upgrading my SL Compact to an RSL.
Personaly I'd like to see an integrated seat post on the RSL too.

Ahhh Dream Away.......

I was wondering about that 58 cm size 16 cm ht on an inset...I'm sure we'll all be quiet once you get the site up 100%

Sorry about that guys. Having some upload issues. The Vamoots RSL is pictured with the optional 44mm head tube. It won't be standard, but offered as an option for a fee.

More updates to come as I work out the backside web issues.

thanks!

Honestly, if you prefer the older standards the "regular" line is the way to go. I'm trying to make that same decision myself right now, between the MX and the MXRSL. Being race oriented though, the RSLs "have" to have the most cutting edge specs to stand out, eh?

What do you guys think about the head tube being a 44mm? I guess I'm a bit of an old timer now...I was hoping Moots would offer no upcharge custom geo for the RSL lineup.
