Last weekend Colorado Cyclocross racers wrapped up our state races with our State Championships on Saturday and Sunday. The snow pack on the Front Range has persisted for several weeks now, making the course a wonderful muddy mess for the third weekend in a row. No complaints from me.
Our little Masters team of 2 (Michael Robson and myself) had very good luck and rode to a 1-2 in the State finals. Mud, snow, ice and off cambers made this course a bike drivers dream. For most of the race we rode wheel to wheel…as the final half lap came my on-fire teammate took a 5 second lead and held it to the line. Michael has pretty much won every race he’s entered this season…needless to say he has been an inferno on the bike. Moots 1-2 in states, Moots 1-2 in the series points, Moots 1 in the team points as well. A great season of fun racing and limited injuries.
Next up we are making the trip to Madison for Cyclocross Nationals….two more races that will take us into mid-January. If you are headed to Madison, look for the Moots sprinter van and stop by to say hi.
Merry Christmas to all!
